Wise Girls

Description

Serving up drinks, drama, and the New York Mafia. Following the tragic death of her fiancé, medical school dropout Meg Kennedy (Mira Sorvino) moves to Staten Island to care for her ailing grandmother. In desperate need of cash, she takes a job as a waitress at Santalino’s, a bustling, upscale Italian restaurant. She is quickly taken under the wing of her sharp-witted, tough-talking co-workers: the savvy Raychel (Mariah Carey) and aspiring actress Kate (Melora Walters). But Meg soon discovers that the "family" running this establishment handles far more than just pasta. Santalino’s is a notorious front for the Mob, operating a dangerous underworld of drug trafficking and backroom deals. When one of the women accidentally witnesses a brutal mob hit, the trio finds themselves entangled deep within the Mafia’s inner circle. Recruited by the authorities to blow the whistle from the inside, the three waitresses must stick together to outsmart the ruthless gangsters. In a world of drugs, deception, and cold-blooded violence, survival is going to require a lot more than service with a smile!
