Valkyrie

Description

Many sectors opposed Hitler. Only one group got this close. In the darkest depth of World War II, highly decorated Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg (Tom Cruise) serves his country with loyalty and pride but watches in horror as Adolf Hitler's madness systematically destroys Germany and the rest of Europe. Severely wounded in battle, Stauffenberg returns home and joins a clandestine resistance network comprised of top-tier military and political figures. Together, they devise a brilliant but incredibly dangerous strategy code-named Operation Valkyrie—the military's own emergency contingency plan, repurposed to overthrow the Nazi regime from within and seize control of Berlin. With time running out for the continent, Stauffenberg agrees to step into the ultimate line of fire, volunteering to be the trigger man who will infiltrate Hitler's heavily fortified bunker and plant the bomb. With everything he loves hanging in the balance, Stauffenberg leads a thrilling, pulse-pounding race against time where a single slip-up means certain execution. Hailed for its relentless suspense and historical authenticity, Valkyrie features a stellar ensemble cast, including Academy Award-nominee Tom Wilkinson, Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh, and Carice van Houten.
